Sunny Days in the Santa Cruz Boardwalk

Summer is definitely the best time to take some breather from the stressful school works and endless work in the office. People usually go to the beach to enjoy the view and take fun water activities like surfing, whale watching, island hopping to name a few. Others prefer going to amusement parks so the whole family can enjoy — not only the kids but also the adults. If you are looking for a summer destination that can give you both, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is surely a must visit!
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk has been providing fun and laughter to every family and kids at heart since 1907, making it the oldest amusement park in California. Since it opened to the public, it hasn’t stopped giving every visitor big smiles on their faces. Hailed as the best beach amusement park in the world, this place has continuously tickled the imaginations of its patrons.
What sets Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk apart from other amusement parks is that it is beautifully located in front of the beach.  Its strategic location makes it easy for every visitor to check the place. Where can you actually find a place where you can enjoy both the waters and the amusement park? There’s definitely nothing like Santa Cruz Boardwalk.
Santa Cruz Boardwalk has a lot in store for its visitors. It has a smorgasbord of food choices from the kiosks that serve delicious meals if you want to satisfy your food cravings. It has retail stores where you can buy souvenirs and gift items and lots of fun activities and exhilarating rides to try. And the best part of it all; it has the best view of the ocean.
Some of the attractions here are already a century-old but they still work perfectly fine as if they never got old. The historic Great Dipper, which by the way is on US National Register of Historic Places, is a roller coaster that is every visitor’s favorite. No visitors came here without trying this famous ride.
Also included on the US National Register of Historic Places is the Looff Carousel. This 107-year old ride takes you to a magical experience like the ones in fairy tales and animated movies. It’s a perfect ride for the whole family. Definitely one of the rides that is one for the books, figuratively and literally.
Logger’s Revenge is another attraction that brings thrills and pounds the heart of every rider. Prepare yourself to get wet at the end of this ride because this attraction will surely make you scream and shout at the top of your lungs.
Other rides that you can try here are Pirate Ship, Rock-o-Plane, Tornado, Sea Swings, Rock and Roll, Cyclone and Ghost Blasters among others. And if you are not a rides-kind-of-person, Santa Cruz Boardwalk also has attractions fit for all ages. These attractions include Fright Walk, Laser Tag, Buccaneer Bay Mini Golf, Casino Arcade and Neptune’s Kingdom. And if amusement parks are not your things, the beach is calling you and it is just a few steps from the park.
